On or about January 12, 1983, defendant falsely and maliciously published of plaintiff in a prominent place in said newspaper for said persons to read a matter addressed to the eye which was calculated to bring plaintiff into contempt, ridicule or obliquy or to cause him to be shunned or avoided.
